About Authors

Samridhi Gulia

        Samridhi Gulia is a dedicated educator and researcher with a strong passion for literature, education, and child development. She holds a Master’s degree in English, where she explored psychoanalytic theory to analyze female leads in psychological thrillers. Now pursuing a Master of Education, she is focused on making learning more engaging, inclusive, and impactful.

        A lifelong learner, Samridhi finds inspiration in books, believing in their power to transform perspectives. When words fall short, she turns to paint, using colours to express emotions and ideas. Travelling is another passion that fuels her curiosity, allowing her to explore new cultures and perspectives. Fluent in English, Hindi, and French, she values language as a tool for connection and understanding.

        Her research extends beyond academics into real-world impact. She conducted research on Early Intervention in collaboration with CTFRC and is currently working as a Research Assistant at Thompson Rivers University. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a PhD and contribute to the field of education and research, striving to bridge the gap between theory and practice in learning.

Shunyan Lyu

        Shunyan Lyu is a Master of Education student at Thompson Rivers University. He serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Graduate Student Success Centre and a Graduate Research Assistant at the School of Education. He is looking forward to continuing his research in a Ph.D. program related to social psychology or educational psychology.

        He holds a B.Sc. in Applied Psychology from Hong Kong Baptist University. Following his undergraduate studies, he worked as a Research Assistant for the Applied Psychology Program at HKBU United International College for five months.

        Shunyan's prior research explored suicide stigma and its influence on suicidal ideation and behaviours.

        Currently, his research interests encompass intergroup stereotypes, academic help-seeking, community-engaged research, and universal design of learning within post-secondary settings.

Smriti Gulia

        Smriti Gulia is a passionate scholar with a strong foundation in literature and education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Honours from Chandigarh and a Master’s degree in English Literature from Pune. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education at TRU, where she also works as a Research Assistant. She hopes to further her academic journey with a PhD in English Literature, exploring the intersections of storytelling, culture, and artistic expression.

        Beyond her studies, Smriti has a deep appreciation for visual art, particularly the vibrant and thought-provoking world of psychedelic paintings. Fluent in English, French, and Hindi, she enjoys engaging with diverse literary and cultural perspectives. Her research interests include horror fiction, British literature, and film studies, reflecting her fascination with narratives that challenge conventions and spark meaningful discussions.

        With a love for both literature and the arts, Smriti is dedicated to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of storytelling in all its forms.
